Cigarbochs is a concept of a derivative of the Bochs IBM-PC emulator with a variety of different design goals. These include:
- CPU ISA is bounded from the Intel 8086/8088 to the i686 Pentium Pro architectures
- Implemented in ANSI C and potentially C*, not C++
- Exclusively runs on POSIX-compatible Unices, chief amog them Linux
- Solely uses the SeaBIOS as its PC BIOS implementation
- Drops support for USB, SMP, the Sound Blaster 16, the ES1370 and the Voodoo graphics card
- Adds the flagship CL-GD5480 graphics chip in addition to the other two Cirrus Logic cards
- Adds the EtherLink III NIC in addition to the NE2000
Cigarbochs is meant to better serve as a reflective debugging emulator for the Sirius DOS research platform and later Anodyne itself.
