This is the springboard for the mission on software as a service, or more aptly the mission on SaaS. Software as a service is an industry-coined term referring to the practise of running software on behalf of consumers in order to take advantage of service economics which are ordinarily unworkable with software products sold by retail. Articles pertaining to this mission will carry the mission banner mission/saas. It is part of the broader mission on software sociology.
